I train the way people actually build a skill: by doing it, getting feedback, and trying again. Workshops are built around live practice, with plenty of role play and real play, so the skills move off the slide deck and into a real session.
Underneath the techniques is the spirit of motivational interviewing: partnership, acceptance, compassion, and evocation. I work to model that spirit in the room, so the experience of the training reflects the way I am inviting participants to be with their own clients.
